I would like to be on the board to support that level <br /> of service. I also am supportive of the ABCs€TMs role of funding local programs and agencies. I <br /> believe I have experience to contribute to the operation of the board. <br /> Conflict of Interest: <br /> Supplemental Questions: <br /> Alcoholic Beverage Control Board <br /> Please list/explain your experience,either professionally and/or from other <br /> boards/commissions that you have in the areas of budget, personnel,and management. <br /> In my position as Administrative Assistant at the Chapel Hill Police Department I managed the <br /> Departments€TMs budget,which included preparation and presentation of the annual budget, <br /> procurement, purchase approvals,grant management and supervising contracts. I also wrote <br /> grant applications for technology equipment,traffic enforcement and education funding,drug <br /> and alcohol court programs, and family violence prevention and intervention programs. <br /> As the Police Analyst I was responsible for the selection, purchase, installation, and supervision <br /> of the computerized records management system. I supervised the employees of the <br /> Information Technology Unit. I also provided strategic and long-range planning for the <br /> department. <br /> I served on the Violence Against Women Act Committee of the Governora€TMs Crime <br /> Commission. We reviewed and recommended approval of grant applications from agencies and <br /> governmental units across the state. <br /> I served on the board of the Exchange Pool for 5 years. I was the staff liaison,which involved <br /> hiring the pool managers. I supervised and evaluated the manager. <br /> For 6 years I was on the Board of Directors of A Helping Hand, a non-profit agency that provides <br /> in-home care for seniors and adults with disabilities. Along with general board responsibilities, I <br /> served as Recording Secretary and on the Long-Term Planning Committee. <br /> In addition to the experience listed in the question above, please list the work/volunteer <br /> experience/qualifications that would add to your expertise for this board. <br /> My professional and volunteer experiences have given me knowledge and experience in agency <br /> management,fiscal responsibility, personnel management,and government operations. I am <br /> also experienced in long range planning, public relations, and problem analysis. <br /> What do you see as the responsibilities of this board,and what do you hope to <br /> accomplish if appointed? <br /> The board is responsible for conducting business in accordance with the Orange County Board of <br /> Commissioners while being regulated by the North Carolina ABC Commission. It is responsible <br /> for the County ABC stores and distribution of alcohol to bars and restaurants. Income generated <br /> is used to fund treatment,education and law enforcement programs, as well as provide funds to <br /> the county. I would hope to continue the excellent work of the ABC Board. I would like to <br /> maintain the sound fiscal operation and services to citizens.
