She asked if one can go on line to see if one's provisional ballot was <br /> 11 counted. <br /> 12 Tracy Reams said yes. <br /> 13 Commissioner Rich referred to page 2 of the report, where it discusses the removal of <br /> 14 2,199 registrants from voter rolls. She asked if an example of why one may be removed from <br /> 15 these rolls could be provided. <br /> 16 Tracy Reams said because of death, moving outside of the County, convicted of a <br /> 17 felony, or one asking to be removed. She said if one has not voted in two federal elections, an <br /> 18 eight year cycle, one is made inactive. <br /> 19 Commissioner Rich is asked if this information is on the website. <br /> 20 Tracy Reams said she is not sure if the list maintenance information is on the BOE <br /> 21 website, but if not, it will be added. <br /> 22 Commissioner Price asked if it is possible that voters will be able to vote on cell phones. <br /> 23 Tracy Reams said there is a restriction in the North Carolina Administrative Code, and <br /> 24 that has been in the code for decades. She said one may not take a picture of one's ballot. <br /> 25 She said that is why electronic devices cannot be in the polling stations and signage to this <br /> 26 effect will be present for the general election. <br /> 27 Commissioner Price said she was at the Gravelly Hill precinct and commended the BOE <br /> 28 staff for handling the day very well. <br /> 29 Commissioner Rich thanked Tracy Reams and her staff for their hard work and <br /> 30 helpfulness to the voters. <br /> 31 Commissioner Dorosin asked if the rolls are ever purged. <br /> 32 Tracy Reams said this is normally done every odd numbered year. <br /> 33 Commissioner Dorosin said it looked like there had been a decrease in voters since <br /> 34 2012 and asked if there was a reason why this may happen. <br /> 35 Tracy Reams said there has been an increase in registrations during presidential <br /> 36 election years. <br /> 37 Commissioner Jacobs asked if the cost for the extra congressional primary is known. <br /> 38 Tracy Reams said it is being estimated at $76,000. She said the BOE approved the <br /> 39 Seymour Center being open extended hours. <br /> 40 Commissioner Dorosin said he was glad to hear that the County was helpful in getting <br /> 41 re-entry residents to vote. <br /> 42 Chair McKee asked if there could be clarification given regarding the voting rights of <br /> 43 convicted felons. <br /> 44 Tracy Reams said when one is convicted of a felony, one loses one's voting rights.
