43 <br />Process Update and Next Steps <br />ATTACHMENT 4 <br />BOCC Next Steps - On June 26, 2007, the BOCC will also consider approving <br />the legal ad for the August 27, 2007 Joint Public Hearing to hear public <br />comments on the Draft County Profile (Data) Element and Goals for inclusion in <br />the Comprehensive Plan Update. <br />Element Lead Advisory Boards~ELABs) -Have completed their review of the <br />draft County Profile (Data) Element and preparation of draft goals for their <br />respective Elements. Staff and the ELABs used the BOCC's Guiding Principles <br />to guide the development of the goals and on June 21, 2007 attended the 3~d <br />Joint Advisory Boards meeting to clearly identify linkages between Element goals <br />and BOCC Principles. <br />Planning Board Next Steps - In July, the Planning Board will discuss any final <br />preparations that may be necessary for the Open House in July and Countywide <br />Public Information Meeting in August (see below for more information on these <br />meetings). <br />Hog Dax -Staff and ELAB volunteers tended a booth at Hog Day on June 16th to <br />help educate/inform the public of Orange County's Comprehensive Plan Update <br />Process. <br />Website -Staff has posted the Draft County Profile Element, Draft <br />Comprehensive Plan Goals, and Planning Board Evaluation of the 1981 Land <br />Use Element/Plan under "Key Documents" and added the PowerPoint <br />Presentation from the April 17th Joint Boards Meeting under "Presentations". <br />Information on the following upcoming Public Meetings has also been added: <br />Open House -July 31, 2007, 3:00-7:00 PM at Planning and Agricultural Center, <br />306-F Revere Rd., Hillsborough. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about <br />the Comprehensive Plan Update Process in an informal setting. Please take a <br />few minutes and stop by anytime during the Open House to learn more about the <br />Comprehensive Plan Update Process as a whole and more specifically, draft <br />goals and data that will be used to guide the development of the Plan. Staff will <br />be available to discuss the Plan and respond to questions. Material will be <br />available for you to take home and light refreshments will be provided. <br />Public Information Meeting -August 7, 2007, 7:00-9:00 PM at New Hope <br />Elementary Auditorium, 1900 New Hope Church Road Chapel Hill. Another great <br />opportunity to learn about the Comprehensive Plan Update Process and receive <br />a preview of the Draft County Profile (Data) Element and goals before the August <br />27th Public Hearing on these items.
