e~a~ ~ ~Oa <br />®t 6, <br />P <br />li i~ <br />'«b taso~~O~ <br />35 <br />Orange Covnty Comprehensive Plan <br />Clarion Associates, in association with Tischler Associates, drafted a regional plan for <br />Southern Beaufort County, the fastest growing county in South Carolina. In an <br />innovative approach, Clarion Associates worked with <br />staff and representatives from the County, the Town of <br />Bluffton, the Town of Hilton Head Island, and key <br />stakeholders from the area. This collaborative effort <br />aims to create long-lasting regional cooperation <br />between the local municipalities and county <br />government, as well as focus specifically on the <br />evaluation of four key regional issues: land use, natural <br />resources, transportation and public facilities, and costs of growth. In 2006, the plan <br />was recognized by the South Carolina Chapter of the American Planning Association <br />as the leading multi jurisdictional planning project in the state. The Beaufort project <br />was completed within the agreed upon project schedule and budget. <br />Contact: Anthony Criscitiello, Planning Director, (843)470-2723 <br />100 Ribault Road, Beaufort, SC 29901 <br />HOURLY RATES AND EXPENSES <br />The two professional planners who will work on this Orange County synthesis project <br />are Roger Waldon and Leigh Anne King, both working out of Clarion's Chapel Hill <br />office. Mr. Waldon's billing rate is $130 per hour. Ms. King's billing rate is $70 per hour. <br />Travel expense will be billed as a request for reimbursement at the rate of $.485 per <br />mile. We do not anticipate other expenses beyond time and mileage. <br />QUALIFICATIONS OF PROJECT MANAGER <br />Roger Waldon is in a unique position to be of assistance in this project. His recent <br />work at Clarion has included the drafting of Comprehensive Plans in Fredericksburg, <br />Virginia and Brentwood, Tennessee, and area plans in Chapel Hill and Wake Forest. <br />His current work includes preparing Comprehensive Plans in Tupelo and Pascagoula <br />Mississippi. While Planning Director in Chapel Hill he was Project Manager for two <br />Clarion Associates <br />
