The following <br />items are proposed for consideration at the August 27, 2007 Quarterly Public Hearing. <br />A. PUBLIC HEARING ITEMS <br />1. Efland-Cheeks Overlay District : Text and map amendments to the Orange County <br />Zoning Ordinance and Zoning Atlas to add a new zoning overlay district entitled "Efland- <br />Cheeks Highway 70 Corridor Overlay District (ECOD)" and requirements for said district. <br />Text Amendment to Section 6.23.3 (Stormwater Infiltration and Detention) to amend the <br />Impervious Surface Limit for 10-Year Transition Areas in the Upper Eno Protected <br />Watershed and Back Creek Protected Watershed. Zoning Atlas Amendment to delineate <br />the geographic extent of the proposed Efland-Cheeks Highway 70 Corridor Overlay <br />District (ECOD). <br />2. Comprehensive Plan Update Phase I: The Comprehensive Plan is an official public <br />document that includes analysis of existing and predicted conditions and provides <br />guidance for future legal and policy decisions, as determined by Orange County. The <br />updated Plan will serve to guide growth and development within the unincorporated areas <br />of the County through the year 2030, by addressing a multitude of issues. The adopted <br />Plan also serves as the statutory basis for many of Orange County's land use regulations <br />as well as the application of zoning districts, as zoning must be in accordance with a <br />comprehensive plan. <br />
