ORANGE COUNTY BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />A Resolution Endorsing the Cornelius Street/US 70 Corridor Plan <br />WHEREAS, the Town of Hillsborough and the County of Orange convened a <br />neighborhood meeting to discuss revitalization of the portion of US 70 through <br />Hillsborough known as Cornelius Street on May 25, 2006, and- <br />WHEREAS, corridor residents and business owners expressed an interest in working <br />with the Town and County to address economic development, traffic, safety, code <br />enforcement, and urban design, and <br />WHEREAS, a task force composed of corridor residents, property owners, business <br />owners, and relevant town and county staff met monthly for one year to develop this <br />plan, and <br />WHEREAS, the corridor residents were involved throughout the process via periodic <br />mailings, an open house and a joint public hearing of the two elected boards, and <br />WHEREAS, this plan has been reviewed by the Orange County Planning Board, the <br />Hillsborough Planning Board, and the Orange County Economic Development <br />Commission; <br />NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Orange County Board of <br />Commissionersthat the Cornelius Street/US 70 Corridor Plan is endorsed as a small <br />area plan for the area and staff is authorized to pursue with due diligence the <br />implementation of this plan as specified in the document. <br />Upon motion of Commissioner ,seconded by Commissioner , <br />the foregoing resolution was adopted this the day of , 2007. <br />I, Donna S.
