Year-To-Date Budget <br /> Summary <br /> PURPOSE: To approve budget and grant project ordinance amendments for fiscal year 2015- <br /> 15. <br /> BACKGROUND: <br /> REVENUES: <br /> Department of Social Services <br /> 1. The Department of Social Services has received notification of additional funds in the <br /> following programs: <br /> • Smart Start Subsidized Child Care program — receipt of $170,238 in additional <br /> funds from the N.C. Division of Child Development and Early Education. This <br /> represents the fourth and final allocation, based on revised State Smart Start child <br /> care allocations for fiscal year 2015-16. This brings the total allocation for fiscal <br /> year 2015-16 to $778,232. These additional funds will be used to pay program <br /> funds directly to childcare providers. <br /> • Child Day Care program - receipt of $554,003 in additional funds from the N.C. <br /> Division of Child Development and Early Education. This represents the fourth <br /> and final allocation, based on revised State child care allocations for fiscal year <br /> 2015-16. This brings the total allocation for fiscal year 2015-16 to $4,591,280. <br /> These additional funds will be used to provide childcare services and subsidies to <br /> low-income families. <br /> • Veterans Services - receipt of $1,907 from the State to be used for events and <br /> services for the Orange County veteran community. <br />
