<br />NOTICE OF JOINT PLANNING PUBLIC HEARING <br />Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />Chapel Hill Town Council <br />A public hearing will be held in the Southern Human Services Center, 2501 <br />Homestead Road, Chapel Hill, North Carolina on Thursday, October 25, 2007 at <br />7:30 P.M. for the purpose of giving all interested citizens an opportunity to speak for <br />or against the following items: <br />1. Orange County Solid Waste Transfer Station and Convenience Center - <br />Chapel Hill Joint Planning Transition Area Zoning Atlas Amendment <br />Purpose: To hear public comment on the proposed rezoning of a 122.9 acre <br />tract on the north side of Eubanks Road and a 79.5 acre tract on the south side <br />of Eubanks Road from Rural Transition (RT) to Materials Handling (MH). The <br />rezoning request is to accommodate the construction of the Orange County Solid <br />Waste Transfer Station on the north side of Eubanks Road (old landfill property) <br />and the relocated solid waste convenience center on the south side of Eubanks <br />Road (current landfill property). The sites are located within the Chapel Hill <br />portion of the Joint Planning Transition Area. <br />Action: Zoning Atlas Amendment <br />From: Chapel Hill Rural Transition (RT) <br />To: Chapel Hill Materials Handling (MH) <br />Size: 202.4 acres total <br />Location: To the north (122.9 acres) and south (79.5 acres) of Eubanks <br /> Road between Millhouse Road and Rogers Road <br />Identification: Chapel Hill Township, PIN #'s 9870-68-0669 (TMBL 7.18..1A) <br /> and 9870-66-2911 (TMB~ 7.18..1) <br />The zoning atlas amendment requires the approval of the Orange County <br />Commissioners and Chapel Hill Town Council. <br />Questions regarding the proposal should be directed to the Chapel Hill Planning <br />Department at 968-2728.
