1 <br /> ORANGE COUNTY <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br /> Meeting Date: May 26, 2016 <br /> Action Agenda <br /> Item No. 3 <br /> SUBJECT: Follow-up discussion of the Manager's Recommended FY 2016-21 Capital <br /> Investment Plan (CIP) <br /> DEPARTMENT: County Manager and Finance and <br /> Administrative Services <br /> ATTACHMENT(S): INFORMATION CONTACT: <br /> Bonnie Hammersley, County <br /> Manager, (919) 245-2300 <br /> Travis Myren, Deputy County <br /> Manager, (919) 245-2308 <br /> Paul Laughton, Finance and <br /> Administrative Services, <br /> (919) 245-2152 <br /> Gary Donaldson, Finance and <br /> Administrative Services, <br /> (919) 245-2453 <br /> PURPOSE: To continue discussion and provide direction to staff on the Manager's <br /> Recommended FY 2016-21 Capital Investment Plan. <br /> BACKGROUND: The Manager's Recommended FY 2016-21 Capital Investment Plan (CIP) <br /> was presented to the Board of County Commissioners on March 29, 2016 and follow-up <br /> discussion occurred as part of the April 7, 2016 Budget work session. <br /> Discussion at tonight's meeting will focus on the following Continuation, Policy Priorities, and <br /> Critical Infrastructure Capital Projects: <br /> Continuation Funding Projects: <br /> • Southern Branch Library (CIP page 31) — provides an estimated $6,375,000 in Year 1 <br /> (FY 2016-17) for design and construction to replace the Cybrary and McDougle library <br /> branches with a new Southern Branch library. <br /> • Historic Rogers Road Neighborhood Infrastructure (CIP page 43) — provides for an <br /> estimated cost of $5,680,000 in Year 1 (FY 2016-17) for the construction of the Sewer <br /> Concept plan to serve 86 parcels. Funding will come from the Towns of Carrboro and <br /> Chapel Hill, and Orange County based a cost sharing agreement. <br />
