Conservation Easements <br />Capital Project Ordinance <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Donna Coffey, (919) 245-2151 <br />PURPOSE: To approve budget ordinance and capital project ordinance amendments for fiscal <br />year 2007-08. <br />BACKGROUND: <br />Department on Aging <br />At its August 21, 2007 meeting, the Board of County Commissioners approved a new fee <br />structure for the fitness studio at the Robert and Pearl Seymour Center. The following table <br />reflects the new approved fees: these fees will become part of the County's fee schedule <br />effective immediately: <br />Membership Fee Ages <br />60+ Ages <br />55-59 <br />Initiation/Orientation Fee one-time fee $ 20.00 $ 20.00 <br />Annual Rate $180.00 $240.00 <br />Bi-Annual Rate $100.00 $140.00 <br />Quarter) Rate $ 55.00 $ 80.00 <br />Month) Rate $ 20.00 $ 30.00 <br />Dail Rate $ 5.00 $ 8.00 <br />It is anticipated that the Seymour Center fitness studio fees will cover the direct cost of staff <br />and maintenance for the studio by the end of the first year, generating $30,000 from 150 <br />memberships. The fees will cover equipment maintenance and temporary personnel to <br />monitor the studio, orient new users, and perform participant functional screenings. This <br />
