But we should
definitely do it again!
CHAD: Uh huh.
MONICA: My parents will be gone next Friday. Do you want to hang out then?
CHAD: Urn, well no. Lets just get lunch then.
MONICA: Lunch. No fake?
CHAD: I'm sorry I have plans Friday night.
BARBARA: Stephanie! Justin! Get back in here!
STEPHANIE and JUSTIN come running back in, out of breath and hair all messed up.
BARBARA: We'll take a short break for lunch now, try as best you can to remain in character for the
duration of the break. Remember the best actors find motivation in every experience. Listen to your
characters, and be ready to retry "The ABC's of STDs".
Benches and stools are moved to the center of the stage. JUSTIN and MONICA sit towards down stage,
and STEPHANIE and CHAD sit upstage, flirting in the background.
MONICA: So you and Stephanie seem like you're getting along well.
JUSTIN: She's the bombdigity. Probably the best girlfriend I've ever had. I can totally see us getting
married and having like 10 kids. God they'd be so cute too. We'll have a little purple cottage. I think
purple is her favorite color.
MONICA: You think?
JUSTIN: Well we don't talk much. But on Thursday I wore a purple shirt and she hugged me twice as
long as usual. But I mean Steph's more into physical stuff... can't get enough of it.
In background STEPHANIE puts her hand on CHAD's leg.
How are you and Chad?
MONICA: Good I guess. When we hung out two nights- no, last night-yeah, we got like, obnoxiously
drunk. And I assumed he'd been drunk before, but halfway through the night he told me this was his
first time drinking, and now it seems like he regrets it. I just feel like crap because I should've asked
him- I feel like he regrets getting drunk with me, like he might be having second thoughts about us.
But I don't know, am I over analyzing this? I feel like he was way too upset.
