The program gives participants an opportunity to work with a broad <br /> variety of art media,and engage In a range of activities from origami to weaving,watercolor painting to sidewalk <br /> chalk activities.Free choice time allows children who prefer to create independent protects the chance to work <br /> with any medium at hand. The program introduces themes of traditional NC/Orange County crafts,and projects <br /> that connect with the museum's collection(for example,weaving crafts that tie into Colonial domestic life). <br /> Participants are primarily Fairview residents. This low-income neighborhood's demographics reflect lower <br /> education levels,higher unemployment rates along with lower household incomes than other CC communities. <br />
