I am a graduate of the Army Safety Officer Course and the Army Range <br /> Safety Officer Course. During my 10 year career I have participated in the investigation of <br /> numerous firearms incidents, to include negligent discharges, errant rounds, and other range <br /> safety violations. <br /> From the first day of military training, respect of the deadly potential of our firearms and their <br /> safe storage, handling, and use have been continually highlighted. <br /> Reasons for wanting to serve on this board: <br /> As I transition from Active Duty, I desire to play a more active role in my community. I come <br /> from an organization in which firearms are a familiar item, but as a tool of last resort- not things <br /> to be celebrated or glorified. 2nd Amendment rights are important, but must be balanced with <br /> the requirements of public safety.
