Comments from Town of Chapel Hill <br /> 6. 2016 SAPFOTAC Annual Report <br /> 7. 11x17 Copies of Student Projection <br /> Charts <br /> PURPOSE: To approve and certify the 2016 Schools Adequate Public Facilities Ordinance <br /> Technical Advisory Committee (SAPFOTAC) Report and certify portions of the Report. <br /> BACKGROUND: At the December 7, 2015 Board of County Commissioners' meeting, the <br /> Board approved the November 13, 2015 actual membership and capacity numbers for both <br /> Orange County Schools (OCS) and Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS). Additional <br /> approvals/certifications, as outlined in the table below, are required by the SAPFO partners <br /> MOUs (Memorandum of Understanding). <br /> At the March 1, 2016 BOCC meeting, the Board received for transmittal the draft 2016 <br /> SAPFOTAC Report. The draft report was also posted on the Orange County Planning <br /> Department's web site. A letter and the Executive Summary of the report were sent to all <br /> SAPFO partners on March 2, 2016 advising them of the availability of the draft Report and <br /> inviting comments. Comments were requested for submission by April 4, 2016. <br /> Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS) administration presented the draft 2016 <br /> SAPFOTAC report to the CHCCS Board of Education at its March 17, 2016 meeting. The Board <br /> did not recommend any changes to the report. Attachment 1 contains a memorandum from <br /> CHCCS administration summarizing the discussion which includes comments regarding the <br /> slower growth rate, future renovation plans, existing school sites, and communication efforts <br /> with town officials. <br />
