6) 1-85 from 1-85/1-40 Split to east of the NC 86 Interchange Widening: Widen one lane in each <br /> direction. <br /> 7) Dimmocks Mill Road Rail Crossing Improvement and Bellvue Street Closure: Improve current <br /> Dimmocks Mill Road grade separation (#735154S) and close Bellvue Street (#735152D) <br /> 8) U.S. 70 East/1-85/1-40 Connector: Modify the 1-85/1-40 Connector (SR 1239) interchange at <br /> U.S 70 to provide access from all directions. <br /> 9) Extend SR-1006 (Orange Grove Road) from SR-1006 (Orange Grove Road) to US70A: <br /> Construct Orange Grove Road Extension (Orange Grove Road to US 70A) with sidewalks and <br /> bicycle lanes. Construct a grade separation at intersection of Orange Grove Road Extension <br /> and NCRR. <br /> 10)South Churton Street (Old NC 86) Improvements: Widen South Churton Street (SR 1009) from <br /> 1-40 to U.S. 70 Business to multiple lanes with congestion management, limited access, <br /> bicycle and pedestrian, and aesthetic improvements. <br /> 11)Eno Mountain Road/Mayo Street at Orange Grove Road: Realign the intersection of Eno <br /> Mountain Road (SR 1148) and Mayo Street (SR 1192) with Orange Grove Road (SR 1006) <br /> and make safety improvements. <br /> 12)Homestead Road Bike Lanes and Sidewalks: Improve Homestead Road (SR 1777) from Old <br /> NC 86 (SR 1009) to NC 86 to include bicycle lanes and sidewalks in sections of the corridor <br /> where they do not exist. <br /> 13)1-40 Widening from 1-40/1-85 interchange to NC 86: Widen 1-40 from four (4) lanes to six (6) <br /> lanes from the 1-40/1-85 interchange to NC 86 <br /> 14)1-40 Widening from NC 86 to U.S. 15-501: Widen 1-40 from four (4) lanes to six (6) lanes from <br /> NC 86 to U.S. 15-501/Durham County line. <br /> Triangle Area RPO: <br /> 1) NC 54 Operational Improvements (Orange Grove Road to Old Fayetteville Road): Implement <br /> operational improvements along the corridor to address congestion, safety, intersecting street <br /> turning movement delays, and the lack of gaps in traffic for side street access to the facility as <br /> an alternative to widening the facility to four (4) lanes. Improvements may involve signalization <br /> at problem intersections, additional dedicated left and right turn storage at side streets along <br /> the facility etc <br /> 2) NC 54 and Orange Grove Road Intersection Improvements: Improve the intersection at NC 54 <br /> and Orange Grove Road to improve operations along the NC 54 corridor <br /> 3) Old Greensboro Road Paved Shoulders: Widen Old Greensboro Road (SR 1005) from <br /> Carrboro's extra-territorial jurisdiction (ETJ) to the Orange/Alamance County line to include <br /> four(4)-foot paved shoulders. <br /> 4) Efland-Cedar Grove Road Improvements: Widen Efland-Cedar Grove Road (SR 1004) from <br /> Highland Farm Road (SR 1332) to the northern property line of the U.S. Post Office north of <br /> Carr Store Road (SR 1352) from a two (2)-lane, 20-foot cross section to a 24-foot cross <br /> section with straightening of the roadway where needed, improvements to turn lanes, and the <br /> incorporation of bicycle facilities. <br /> 5) Orange Grove Road/Buckhorn Road Paved Shoulders: Widen Orange Grove Road (SR 1006) <br /> from Dairyland Road (SR 1177) to Buckhorn Road (SR 1114) and Buckhorn Road (SR 1114) <br />
