She said she can discuss this further <br /> with the Carrboro Manager. <br /> Travis Myren resumed the presentation: <br /> Continuation Funding <br /> • Detention Facility - $500,000: Page 37 <br /> o Continuation of design services for FY2016-17 <br /> o Total facility estimate of $20,591,331 in FY2017-18 including construction <br /> administration, equipment and furnishings <br /> o Cost estimate based on 144 bed facility with expansion capabilities to 250 <br /> beds if necessary <br /> o Timing assumes modification of the land lease with the State <br /> o Consultant to conduct staffing analysis to recommend most efficient use of <br /> staff resources and project operating cost. <br /> Chair McKee asked if the figures include the potential relocation of the Sheriff's office. <br /> Travis Myren said currently only the detention facility is authorized but options can be <br /> brought back to the Board. <br /> Chair McKee said the sooner this discussion can happen, the better. He asked if the <br /> lease will need to be adjusted, based on changes made by the legislature. <br /> Jeff Thompson said yes. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs asked if there is place in the timeline to discuss the usage of the <br /> old jail. <br /> Travis Myren said that is not included in the CIP. <br /> Jeff Thompson said after the legislature issue, a discussion will need to occur with all <br /> stakeholders. He said this will be plugged into the schedule going forward. <br /> Travis Myren resumed the presentation: <br /> Continuation Funding <br /> • Historic Rogers Road Sewer- $5.68M Page 43 <br /> o County CIP includes total project costs <br /> o Chapel Hill (43%) and Carrboro (14%) will participate in cost-sharing <br /> o County and Towns will develop an inter-local agreement for construction <br /> costs <br /> o Construction scheduled to begin in March/April 2017 <br /> o Operating cost will be part of an agreement with Orange Water and Sewer <br /> Authority (OWASA) <br /> o OWASA availability fees and on site plumbing not included in above <br /> estimate. <br /> Rogers Road Proposed Sewer Alignment (map) <br /> Commissioner Jacobs suggested that staff examine OWASA's fees to look for <br /> differences from a typical project. <br />
