Discussion of Manager's Recommended FY 2016-2021 Capital Investment Plan <br /> Chair McKee said he had a conversation with the Manager and School Board chairs <br /> today and they all decided not to address the schools' item tonight but wait until the joint <br /> meeting on April 121h <br /> Capital Investment Plan — Overview <br /> The FY 2016-21 CIP includes County Projects, School Projects, and Proprietary Projects. The <br /> School Projects include Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools, Orange County Schools, and <br /> Durham Technical Community College — Orange County Campus projects. The Proprietary <br /> Projects include Water and Sewer, Solid Waste Enterprise Fund, and Sportsplex projects. <br /> The CIP has been prepared anticipating continued slow economic growth of between 1-2% <br /> annually over the next five years. Many of the projects in the CIP will rely on debt financing to <br /> fund the projects. <br /> Travis Myren said the PowerPoint presentation follows the transmittal letter in the <br /> Board's CIP book. She said a study was completed that determined 20,000 square feet as an appropriate <br /> size, but this was when a site in Hillsborough was being considered.
