Chapel Hill Orange County Visitors Bureau —Appointment <br /> The Board considered making an appointment to the Chapel Hill Orange County <br /> Visitors Bureau. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Rich, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier to <br /> appoint the following to the Chapel Hill Orange County Visitor's Bureau: <br /> Appointment to a partial term (position #3) Orange County/ Hillsborough Chamber of <br /> Commerce for Allison Nichols-Clapper expiring 12/31/2017. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 12. Board Comments <br /> Commissioner Burroughs said the Board of Health is considering a ban on e-cigarettes <br /> in restaurants, bars and closed areas, and there will be a public comment period from April 10 <br /> to April 27. She said the Board of Health will vote on this item at their next meeting. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier said she attended the Chamber's State of the Community <br /> Report, and all of the data is available on line. She said after the presentation, there small <br /> group discussions about economic development, K-12 education, housing, and transportation <br /> occurred which were interesting. <br /> Commissioner Rich said she spent a morning last week with Community Center <br /> Director David Caldwell touring the community centers. <br /> Commissioner Dorosin had no comments. <br /> Commissioner Price said she attended the district meeting of the NCACC last week, <br /> where she shared updates from Orange County regarding crisis intervention training. She said <br /> many counties praised the efforts being made here. <br /> Commissioner Price said there was a meeting in Cedar Grove last weekend where the <br /> community center was discussed. She said the center was then toured and it is coming along <br /> beautifully. She said the community is very excited. <br /> Commissioner Jacobs asked if there is a target date for opening this community center. <br /> Jeff Thompson said the target date for moving staff in is April 181h, with a soft opening <br /> in early May, and a grand opening on June 171h <br /> Commissioner Jacobs read an excerpt from the CEO of Pay Pal as to why the <br /> company is not bringing 400 jobs to Charlotte. <br /> Chair McKee encouraged the Board to accept the invitation to visit Emergency Services <br /> and watch how special or extraordinary events are handled in Orange County. <br /> 13.
