2 <br /> Under separate contract, Brooks Contractor also provides this service to the Chapel Hill <br /> Carrboro City Schools at the same price. <br /> For FY 2015-16 the County's food and organics waste program is projected to divert 1,620 tons <br /> of compostable material from landfill disposal. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: The renewal will maintain the current per ton price of $80 for the two <br /> year extension period. The cost of this contract for Fiscal Year 2015-2016 is budgeted at <br /> $145,000. The requested budget submitted to the County Manager for 2016-17 for this program <br /> is $155,000. <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: There is no Orange County Social Justice Goal impact associated <br /> with this item. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve the amendment <br /> to renew the service contract with Brooks to collect and compost food waste and authorize the <br /> Manager to sign the Contract Amendment. <br />
