2 <br /> SOCIAL JUSTICE IMPACT: The following Orange County Social Justice Goal is <br /> applicable to this agenda item: <br /> • GOAL: CREATE A SAFE COMMUNITY <br /> The reduction of risks from vehicle/traffic accidents, childhood and senior injuries, <br /> gang activity, substance abuse and domestic violence. <br /> Funding for these recreation programs provides team-oriented opportunities for youth <br /> across Orange County, helping to offer a healthy and supportive framework and activity <br /> alternative. <br /> Department on Aging <br /> 2. The Department on Aging anticipates additional revenue for the following programs: <br /> • Medicare Improvements for Patients and Providers Act (MIPPA) — receipt of <br /> $3,500 from the Triangle J Council of Governments (TJCOG). These funds will be <br /> used for outreach on services available through the SHIIP and low income subsidy <br /> programs. <br /> • Older Adults Wellness Programs — Based on current year and historical <br /> collections, the Department on Aging anticipates receiving additional revenue of <br /> $19,000 in wellness class fees, which will pay wellness instructors and class <br /> expenses related to the Senior Citizen Health Promotion Wellness Program. The <br /> department also anticipates receiving an additional $4,000 from the senior centers' <br /> "Fit Feet" services, which will procure medical supplies and nursing support. This <br /> budget amendment amends the current Senior Citizen Health Promotion Grant <br /> Project Ordinance as follows: <br /> Senior Citizen Health Promotion Wellness Grant($23,000) -Project#294303 <br /> Revenues for this project: <br /> Current FY 2015-16 FY 2015-16 <br /> FY 2015-16 Amendment Revised <br /> Senior Citizen Wellness Funds $134,935 $23,000 $157,935 <br /> Total Project Funding $134,935 $23,000 $157,935 <br /> Appropriated for this project: <br /> Current FY FY 2015-16 FY 2015-16 <br /> 2015-16 Amendment Revised <br /> Senior Citizen Wellness $134,935 $23,000 $157,935 <br /> Total Costs $134,935 $23,000 $157,935 <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of these additional funds.
