The Orange voter-approved one-half cent sales tax will help fund <br /> 3 the 25% local share of the D-O LRT Project. <br /> 4 <br /> 5 John Tallmadge said it is hoped that the state cap, which was put on last year, will be <br /> 6 removed at some point. <br /> 7 <br /> 8 Financials <br /> 9 John Tallmadge said they are running slightly ahead of projections <br /> 10 The FY15 revenues and expenses for the Orange Bus and Rail Investment Plan are shown <br /> 11 below. The revenues to fund the Transit Plan include a voter-approved one-half cent sales tax, <br /> 12 a seven-dollar county vehicle registration fee, a three-dollar regional registration fee and a <br /> 13 portion of the five percent regional vehicle rental tax. He said the reserves will be used for services and capital projects. <br /> 31 <br /> 32 Next Steps <br /> 33 The following services will be implemented in the upcoming fiscal year (FY16: July <br /> 34 2015-June 2016): <br /> 35 • In August 2015, Orange County through Orange Public Transportation will <br /> 36 implement an increase in the midday service frequency of the Hillsborough-Chapel Hill <br /> 37 Shuttle and extended the route to Cedar Grove, north of Hillsborough. <br /> 38 • Orange County through Orange Public Transportation will implement three new <br /> 39 services: <br /> 40 o Orange-Alamance Connector with midday service between Mebane <br /> 41 and Hillsborough <br /> 42 o Efland-Hillsborough Commuter Loop with peak period service between Efland <br /> 43 and Hillsborough <br /> 44 o Zoned deviated fixed routes serving three rural county areas midday, two days <br /> 45 per week per zone <br /> 46 • Chapel Hill Transit will expand service during peak periods and evenings on the HS <br /> 47 route <br /> 48 • Any new potential services for Chapel Hill Transit will be identified as part of annual <br /> 49 budget development in coordination with Chapel Hill Transit's Public Transit Committee <br />
