DocuSign Envelope ID:299BB727-1089-451E-ADD8-553714352CF4 Proposed Uses of Grant Funds The Orange County Arts County grant money will pave the way for Triangle Weavers to rent,maintain and adequately equip the TFAC space. The grant will ensure the center will become a self-sufficient, vibrant place with a strong connection to the community and continued vision of teaching and sharing textiles and fiber arts with its members and the public of all ages,gender,race and socioeconomic backgrounds. With support of the grant,TW plans to retain space in the Shared Visions Retreat Center (www.sharedvisions.ore)in order to: • Provide guild members and the general public with a handicapped accessible,comfortable,working space to gather together,to study and to share fiber arts knowledge and skills, • Expand its educational and outreach programs to a larger audience giving non-weavers the opportunity to try their hand at weaving,spinning and textile arts.Groups reached include public schools,senior groups and other organizations in the area, • House,preserve and maintain a wide selection of current and historical fiber arts publications and learning materials that TW has acquired, • Sponsor more classes and workshops with local and nationally known textile instructors, • Host free presentations and demonstrations focusing on the textile and fiber arts.The local community will be invited to demonstrations and presentations highlighting works rooted in our local tradition but also looking forward to the future to inspiring a new generation of emerging textile artists, • Assist members in forming and sustaining more self-led interest and study groups thus enriching members' knowledge,skills and creativity, • Provide additional weaving looms and repair current equipment so that members can rent or borrow for classes and personal use. It is TW's goal to facilitate,oversee and maintain the following projects: • Upgrade and sustain a website www.triangleweavers.org and Facebook page • Host the following classes at TFAC: • Beginning and Advanced Weaving Classes and Workshops • Rigid Heddle Weaving • Split Ply Braiding • Basket Weaving • Beginning and Advanced Color Classes for textile artists • Felting,spinning,dyeing,intermediate classes focusing on specific weave-structures • Host the following workshop at TFAC with a nationally recognized instructor: o Block Structures with Robyn Spady in March 2016 • Support,coordinate and oversee the following study groups at TFAC: • Contemporary Textile discussion group • Three Handwoven Journals discussion groups • Warpsters,a weaving structure group • Tapestry study group • Garment study group • Repurposing and using heirloom linens interest study group • Coordinate additional events to be held at TFAC including but not limited to: o Drop-in and Learning Sessions Tuesdays and Saturdays 1-4 PM with informal gatherings on topics such as Using Fiberworks(a computer design program for textile artists), Weaving techniques with cards,Woven Transparencies,Warping Back to Front, Finishing Techniques • Coordinate shows and demonstrations including but not limited to: 3
