I agree that people should have more <br /> 36 time to digest the proposal and weigh in on it if they want to. <br /> 37 <br /> 38 Comparing the Proposed Orange County Ordinance to the Lenoir Ordinance they are very <br /> 39 similar with Orange County's addition of some key points; <br /> 40 <br /> 41 1) The setback buffers which are common sense safety measures, but are made <br /> 42 redundant by criminal and civil penalties <br /> 43 2) Regulations for indoor ranges which are also made redundant by criminal and civil <br /> 44 penalties <br /> 45 3) Time of day restrictions <br /> 46 4) The exclusion of "explosive targets". These targets are unregulated by the BATF and <br /> 47 likely magnify the number of noise complaints. Their effects should be covered by the <br /> 48 noise ordinance, but it's sometimes hard to locate and enforce.. <br /> 49 5) Sign posting regulations which are about the same as posting "no hunting" signs, as <br /> 50 recall the discussion. <br />
