f <br /> 1 5 <br /> Violence Prevention - School Resources <br /> Grant Project Ordinance <br /> Project Number 11-712 <br /> Be it ordained by the Orange County Board of County Commissioners that pursuant to Section 13.2 of Chapter 159 <br /> of the General Statutes of North Carolina,the following grant project is hereby adopted <br /> Section 1. The project authorized is the Violence Prevention— School Resources Program as awarded to <br /> the Orange County Sheriff's Department by the Drug Control and System Improvement <br /> grant. The primary purpose of this program is to stabilize the school community,using <br /> resource officers(deputies)to implement violence prevention strategies. The mission of the <br /> program will be to establish local law enforcement as an active prevention resource in <br /> addition to its role as a responsive enforcement agency. <br /> Section 2. The officers of the County are hereby directed to proceed with the grant project within <br /> the grant document,the rules and regulations of the Drug Control and System Improvement <br /> grant and the budget contained herein. <br /> Section 3. The following revenue is anticipated to be available to complete this project: <br /> Intergovernmental— Violence Prevention(School Resources) $76,614 <br /> General Fund Operating Match (County Costs) $25,538 <br /> Total Revenue $102,152 <br /> Section 4. The following amount is appropriated for this project: <br /> Public Safety— Violence Prevention (School Resources) Grant Funds $76,614 <br /> Public Safety— General Fund $25,538 <br /> Total Appropriations $102,152 <br /> Section 5. Seventy five percent of this project is funded by grant funds. The required 25%match for this <br /> grant is included in the 1994-95 Sheriff's Department General Fund operating budget. <br /> Section 6. The finance officer is hereby directed to maintain within the Grant Project sufficient <br /> specific detailed accounting records to provide the accounting to the grantor agency <br /> required by the grant agreement and federal and state regulations. <br /> Section 7. Funds may be advanced from the General Fund for the purpose of making payments due. <br /> Reimbursement requests should be made to the grantor agency in an orderly and timely <br /> manner. <br /> Section 8. Copies of this grant project ordinance shall be made available to the finance officer for <br /> direction in carrying out this project. <br /> Section 9. Positions authorized through this grant project ordinance include: <br /> 2.00 Full—Tune Equivalent Deputy I positions <br /> 0.50 Full—Time Equivalent Safety Coordinator <br /> These positions are authorized through June 30,1996. Subsequent funding in future years is <br /> contingent upon the availabilty of grant funds. <br /> Section 10. This project period begins July 1, 1994 and is in effect until June 30,1996.
