The material <br /> reviewed by the Board also included the State' s request for <br /> payment for the first two years of interest - but not <br /> principle - and maintenance costs for the County' s share <br /> (as represented by the pro rata relationship between the <br /> County' s allocation and the total water supply available <br /> for allocation) of the total cost of developing and <br /> operating Jordan Lake. The Board approved payment of that <br /> bill, and directed that funds be set aside to make the <br /> requested payment, in conjunction with its approval "in <br /> principal" of a future allocation contract between the <br /> State and County. The State had implied that the contract <br /> would outline the terms and conditions of the allocation <br /> and payment schedule and stated that a draft contract would <br /> soon be submitted for BOCC review and approval. <br /> On 27 June 1994, County staff received a draft contract <br /> (see attachmented) for the County's Jordan Lake allocation <br /> from the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR) . According <br /> to DWR staff, the draft contract is intended to follow a <br /> format similar to that of the contract between the Corps of <br />
