Memo from GoTriangle with Bonnie Hammersley, Orange County Manager, 919- <br /> Annual Report 245-2300 <br /> Jeff Mann, GoTriangle General Manager, 919-485- <br /> 7424 <br /> PURPOSE: To receive GoTriangle's annual report on the Orange County Bus and Rail <br /> Investment Plan (OCBRIP) and provide feedback. <br /> BACKGROUND: The OCBRIP was approved by the BOCC in June 2012. The OCBRIP <br /> provides local and regional transit opportunities including expanded bus service and proposed <br /> light rail. Voters in November 2012 approved a one-half cent sales tax to fund the local portion <br /> of the Plan and collection of the sales tax began on April 1, 2013. <br /> This is the third annual report that GoTriangle (Triangle Transit/TTA) has provided to the Board, <br /> the last taking place at the Board's March 19, 2015 work session. <br /> Attachment 1 is a memo from Jeff Mann, General Manager of GoTriangle, which introduces its <br /> annual report. Although the memo is dated December 14, 2015, the accompanying report has <br /> been updated more recently to address comments provided by Orange Public Transportation <br /> and Orange County Planning Staff. <br /> Additional background documents such as the adopted OCBRIP and Interlocal Implementation <br /> Agreement (October 24, 2012) can be found via the following link, listed under Transportation <br /> Documents: <br /> http://www.orangecountync.gov/departments/planning and inspections/transportation planninq.php <br /> NEXT STEPS: <br /> Consistent with the Interlocal Implementation Agreement, next steps are to include the <br /> development of appropriate benchmarks and timeline to evaluate progress in gaining federal <br /> and state financial support for the LRT project in the Plan and to incorporate these benchmarks <br /> and timeline into the OCBRIP. This is to be done in a manner that coordinates with the <br /> Durham-Chapel Hill-Carrboro Metropolitan Planning Organization's preparation of a new <br /> Metropolitan Transportation Plan. <br /> FINANCIAL IMPACT: There is no financial impact associated with receiving the annual report. <br /> The OCBRIP serves as the financial plan for expending: <br /> • Half-cent transit sales tax revenues; <br />
