Permits Coordinator <br />Page 2 <br />~~ <br />o Updates Inspections web page; updates and keeps supplies of forms; creates handouts and <br />brochures. <br />o Verifies contractor licensure. <br />o Maintains permit and inspection files. <br />o Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: <br />o Expert knowledge of the NC Building Codes and NC Administration and Enforcement <br />requirements., and of building inspection and permit acquisition process. <br />o Knowledge of relevant county ordinances and regulations. <br />o Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures. <br />o Ability to deal with the public and co-workers with patience and sensitivity. <br />o Ability to read building plans. <br />o Ability to multi-task. <br />o Slcill in maintaining files. <br />o Skill in performing mathematical calculations. <br />o Skill in entering data accurately and rapidly. <br />o Slcill in operating such office equipment as a computer, typewriter, calculator, facsimile <br />machine, and copier. <br />o Slcill in utilizing environmental and building code software. <br />o Slcill in dealing with the public. <br />o Skill in oral and written communication <br />SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: The Building Services Manager assigns work in terms of general <br />instructions. Completed work is reviewed for accuracy and compliance with instructions and <br />procedures. <br />GUIDELINES: Guidelines include state and county building codes, relevant county ordinances <br />and regulations, fee schedules, and department policies and procedures. These guidelines are <br />generally clear and specific, but may require some interpretation in application. <br />
