Water Resources Coordinator <br />Page 2 of 3 <br />~~ <br />o Makes presentations to the Board of County Commissioners for decisions regarding <br />water issues proposals, etc. <br />o Evaluates potential subdivision proposals for environmental impacts and for <br />opportunities to protect priority resources. <br />o Develops and updates written materials such as news releases, news articles, brochures, <br />and web site information pertaining to department operations and water issues <br />o Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: <br />o Knowledge of Board of Commissioners goals and objectives pertaining to environment <br />and resource conservation. <br />o Knowledge of hydrology, hydrogeology and water resources science and policy issues <br />o Knowledge of county ordinances and relevant state and federal laws and regulations. <br />o Knowledge of department policies and procedures. <br />o Knowledge of GIS systems and use of GIS in analysis. Database management skills. <br />o Knowledge of Board of Commissioners goals and objectives pertaining to environment <br />and resource conservation <br />o Slcill in hydrologic modeling and statistical analysis. <br />o Strong technical writing and policy analysis skills and oral and written skills. <br />o Slcill in reading and interpreting maps and plans <br />o Facilitation skills <br />o Slcill in gathering data and preparing reports. <br />o Skill in public and interpersonal relations. <br />o Slcill in oral and written communication. <br />PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The work is typically performed while sitting, bending, crouching, or <br />stooping. The employee occasionally lifts heavy objects. <br />
