Throughout his career as a public official, he has <br /> provided support to elected officials as well as residents of Orange County in an <br /> intelligent, sensitive, and inclusive manner. Congressman David Price has been a <br /> steadfast advocate for Orange County over the years by helping to secure federal <br /> funding for many important projects that improved the quality of life for County <br /> residents. These projects include: <br /> • In 2002, Congressman Price secured federal grant funds for Orange County in the <br /> amount of $90,000 to help local officials build a shelter for the Hillsborough Farmers <br /> Market. The grant funds were used for the construction of the Orange County Public <br /> Market House in the River Park area behind the Orange County Courthouse in <br /> Hillsborough. <br /> • In 2003, Congressman David Price worked to secure funds for Orange County <br /> totaling $900,000 from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Special <br /> Appropriations Grant funds program. The funds were secured for the construction of <br /> the Central Efland and North Buckhorn sewer improvements. <br /> • In 2005, Congressman David Price secured $500,000 for additional water and sewer <br /> improvements to the Northern Human Services Center (now Cedar Grove <br /> Community Center) and the Mebane-Efland corridor in the economic development <br /> district serving the middle school, soccer complex and the community of Buckhorn <br />
