At its October 13, 2015 work session, the Board of Commissioners received a report <br /> on Article 46 one-quarter cent Sales Tax, including updated information on the status <br /> of Article 46 Sales Tax collections since its inception on April 1, 2012. Article 46 <br /> Sales Tax proceeds are divided 50% to the County's two school systems and 50% to <br /> Economic Development initiatives. Attachment B of that report reflected that a total of <br /> $765,612 ($382,806 for Education and $382,806 for Economic Development) had <br /> been collected over and above the budgeted amount since inception through <br /> September 30, 2015. <br /> This budget amendment provides for the receipt of the additional proceeds of <br /> $382,806 for Education, and amends the Article 46 Sales Tax Fund as listed below. <br /> The Economic Development's share of $382,806 will be allocated and incorporated in <br /> the upcoming FY 2016-17 budget cycle. <br />
