The Board plans to continue to pursue the opportunity to . <br /> work collaboratively with the Planning Board to assess changes needed to <br /> further development of affordable housing and the progress and <br /> accomplishments. <br /> Identify any activities this board/commission expects to carry out in 2016 <br /> as they relate to established BOCC goals and priorities. <br /> If applicable, is there a fiscal impact (i.e., funding, staff time, other <br /> resources) associated with these proposed activities (please list). <br /> • Educating and advising the BOCC and the community about Affordable <br /> Housing needs, priorities and opportunities, particularly <br /> rental/homeownership housing for the very low income, homelessness <br /> and the needs of other special need populations such as persons with <br /> disabilities and the elderly. <br /> • Working with the Human Relations Commission in implementing the <br /> Analysis of Impediments. <br /> • Touring affordable housing properties to assess needs and <br /> accomplishments. <br /> • Review outside funding requests/applications from organizations providing <br /> housing projects, programs and services <br /> • Collaborating with other Boards, Commissions, town counterparts and <br /> community partners in addressing affordable housing, furthering choice <br /> and maximizing resources and opportunities to meet the range of <br /> housing needs. <br /> • Discover viable affordable housing options and report these options to the <br /> BOCC. <br /> • Work collaboratively with the local governments on affordable housing <br /> matters in reference to the proposed light rail transportation vein from <br /> Orange County to Durham County. <br /> • Work collaboratively for economic development and employment <br />
