BOCC Updates/Checkpoints <br /> May 5, 2015 —Approval of UDO Amendment Outline Form <br /> September 2, 2015 — Planning Board Ordinance Review Committee (ORC) <br /> November 23, 2015 — Quarterly Public Hearing <br /> This item was reviewed at the November 23, 2015 Quarterly Public Hearing <br /> where the following comments were made: <br /> • A BOCC member indicated he believed the proposed limit for vehicles displayed <br /> within the NC-2, EC-5, and E-1 zoning districts was too low and should be <br /> increased. <br /> STAFF COMMENT: Staff has revised the proposed amendment to allow for <br /> the display of 32 vehicles on motor vehicle sales/rental businesses within the <br /> NC-2, EC-5, and El general use zoning districts. The original amendment <br /> proposed a limit of 25 vehicles in these districts. <br /> • A Planning Board member asked how this amendment would address the storage <br /> of vehicles off-site. <br /> STAFF COMMENT: This amendment would not address or impact vehicles <br /> being stored on another property or prohibit same. Such storage would be <br /> treated as a separate, independent, land use and have to be permitted in <br /> accordance with the provisions of the UDO. <br /> • A BOCC member asked what the impetus was for the proposed text amendment. <br /> STAFF COMMENT: The current limit only applies to motor vehicle <br /> sales/rental operations located within the NC-2 zoning district. This limit was <br /> established consistent with a petition filled by a property owner and acted <br /> 3 <br />
