Hammersley <br /> County Manager <br /> RE: Changes to FY2016-17 Budget Calendar <br /> In an effort to provide more time for the budget consideration and deliberation, the FY 16-17 Manager's <br /> Recommended Budget will be presented to the Board of Orange County Commissioners on May 5th <br /> instead of May 17th as currently scheduled. <br /> I am also proposing to change the purpose of two of the Budget meetings by moving the Public Hearing <br /> to May 12th and conducting a work session on May 26th. This will provide the Board of Commissioners <br /> with the benefit of gathering public input prior to starting budget deliberations in a work session. These <br /> changes do not alter the budget original deliberation schedule. Only the purpose of the meetings would <br /> change. <br /> Finally, the May 19th Budget Public Hearing would move from the Whitted facility to Southern Human <br /> Services to assure that a budget public hearing is held in the southern part of the County. The Clerk to <br /> the Board of Commissioners has drafted an abstract to change the public meeting calendar for <br /> consideration at the Board's February 2"d meeting. <br /> The revised FY2016-17 Budget Calendar is attached for your review.
