14 <br /> 1 John Roberts said there are appeal procedures in place, and if there is concern that <br /> 2 Orange County is exceeding its authority, there is an avenue of appeal. He said the issue is still <br /> 3 being studied for full clarity and to insure the County is in full compliance. <br /> 4 Chair McKee clarified that the two options he sees are to form a reasonable defense of <br /> 5 the County's regulations or to assume the State's standards. He asked if there is a third option. <br /> 6 John Roberts said where the state law is not clear, there will be a reasonable defense <br /> 7 made to any challenges. He said staff is working on being as prepared as possible. He said <br /> 8 the UDO could be amended if necessary. <br /> 9 Bonnie Hammersley said staff would continue to rely on the County Attorney's office as <br /> 10 the legislation is reviewed and recommendations made.
