Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Chair Carey: <br />Subject: Board Appointment <br />The Orange Cotmty Advisory Board on Aging reviewed all applicants for vacant at-large <br />representation to the Advisory Board. At the Septemberl2th meeting of the Aging Board, <br />the members recommended Ms. Ellen Ozier-Hayes for appointment. The Aging Board <br />invites prospective applicants to attend meetings prior to malting iecorrunendations to <br />assure their uzterests in the worltings of the Board and become familiar with meeting <br />dates and times. Ms. Ozier-Hayes has attended several advance meetings. <br />Ms. Ozier-Hayes has experience wonting with the older population in Orange County. <br />She wonted as an intern with the Department on Aging while studying for a Masters of . <br />Social Worlt degree at UNC. She has volunteered with several area organizations such as <br />Alterra C1areBridge's Memory Care facility wonting with residents diagnosed with <br />Alzheimer's or dementia-related illnesses. She is a former member of the Dulte Brain <br />Tumor Center Advisory Board and currently serves on the Center for Women's Health <br />Research Board in Chapel Hill. <br />Ms. Ozier-Hayes is presently a clinical instructor with the Jordan Instihite's Family and <br />Children's Resource Program and the Center for Aging Research and Educational <br />Services.
