ORANGE COUNTY <br />BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />ACTION AGENDA ITEM ABSTRACT <br />Meeting Date: October 9, 2007 <br />Action Agenda <br />Item No. ¢ - n <br />SUBJECT: Contract Amendment Approval: West Ten Design Services; Phase II <br />DEPARTMENT: Purchasing and Recreation PUBLIC HEARING: (Y/N) No <br />ATTACHMENT(S): <br />Proposal <br />INFORMATION CONTACT: <br />Pam Jones 919 245-2652 <br />Lori Taft 919 245-2673 <br />PURPOSE: To consider approving a contract amendment for Corley Redfoot Zack (CRZ) to <br />complete design of West Ten Soccer Center-Phase II. <br />BACKGROUND: The Board previously approved a contract with CRZ to design Phase I of the <br />West Ten Soccer Center. Phase I is currently under construction. <br />The Board has approved the development of this phase of the project. This action authorizes <br />an additional $105,200 to be paid to CRZ for the completion of the design work of Phase II. <br />Primary elements of Phase II of this project include a building, playground, additional parking, <br />field lighting, well irrigation system, first aid stand and landscaping. The proposal also includes <br />revisions to the original master plan to accommodate future tennis courts and playground. <br />Construction of Phase II is anticipated to begin in late-Fall 2007. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: No additional funding is required as this action can be accomplished <br />within the approved budget. <br />RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends that the Board approve a contract <br />amendment with Corley Redfoot Zack in the amount of $105,200 to complete the design of <br />Phase II of the West Ten Soccer Center; and authorize the Purchasing Director to execute <br />paperwork to effect the amendment. <br />
