Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Ms: Baker: <br />SECRETARY <br />This is to advise that in accordance with Article 1 of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina <br />General •Statutes, the Department of Transportation shall inform all municipalities and/or <br />counties affected by a planned transportation project. It is also requested that each affected <br />municipality or county submit, within 45 days, a written resolution expressing their views on <br />the project. <br />In accordance with this statute, this is to notify you that the Department of Transportation is <br />proposing to construct the following project within. Orange County: <br />Install center traffic islands with stop signs on NC 57 C NC 157. <br />This project will enhance safety and provide more efficient traffic flow in this area. <br />I~ would appreciate your placing this on the agenda for the Board of County Commissioners to <br />review, and if approved, submitting a resolution back to this office. <br />If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact this office. <br />Sincerely, <br />~~ ~~~ <br />J.
