Box 8181 <br />Hillsborough, NC 27278 <br />Dear Ms. Baker: <br />This is to advise that in accordance with Article 1 of Chapter 136 of the North Carolina <br />General Statutes, the Department of Transportation shall inform all municipalities and/or <br />counties affected by a planned transportation project. If is also requested that each affected <br />municipality or county submit, witl1ii145 days, a written resolution expressing their views on <br />the project. <br />In accordance with this statute, this is to notify you that the Department of Transportation is <br />proposing to construct the following project within Orange County: <br />Install a right turn lane at the intersection of US 70 and NC 751. <br />TI1is project will e1til--ance safety and provide more efficient traffic flow in this area. <br />I would appreciate your placilzg tl~lis on tl~e agenda for the Board of County Commissioners to <br />review, and if approved, submitting a resolution back to this office. <br />If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact this office. <br />Sincerely, <br />?fit. ~~~~ <br />J.
