APPROVED 11/5/2015 <br /> MINUTES <br /> BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br /> REGULAR MEETING <br /> October 6, 2015 <br /> 7:00 p.m. <br /> The Orange County Board of Commissioners met in regular session on Tuesday, October 6, <br /> 2015 at 7:00 p.m. at the Whitted Building, in Hillsborough, N.C. <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Chair McKee and Commissioners Mia Burroughs, <br /> Mark Dorosin, Barry Jacobs, Bernadette Pelissier, Renee Price and Penny Rich <br /> COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ABSENT: <br /> COUNTY ATTORNEYS PRESENT: John Roberts <br /> COUNTY STAFF PRESENT: County Manager Bonnie Hammersley and Deputy Clerk to the <br /> Board David Hunt (All other staff members will be identified appropriately below) <br /> Chair McKee called the meeting to order at 7:04 p.m. <br /> 1. Additions or Changes to the Agenda <br /> Chair McKee asked for a moment of silence to recognize the recent tragic events in <br /> Oregon. <br /> He noted the following items at the Commissioners' places: <br /> - pink sheet - letter for item 5a: Class A Special Use Permit for the Emerson Waldorf School <br /> -white sheet - letter for item 7a: Additional discussion regarding a November 2016 Bond <br /> Referendum. <br /> - PowerPoint for item 8a: Report on Small Business Investment Grants, Agriculture Economic <br /> Development Grants, and Small Business Loan Program <br /> - Report from Planning and Inspections <br /> PUBLIC CHARGE <br /> Chair McKee dispensed with the reading of the public charge. <br /> 2. Public Comments <br /> a. Matters not on the Printed Agenda <br /> b. Matters on the Printed Agenda <br /> 3. Announcements and Petitions by Board Members <br /> Commissioner Dorosin had no announcements or petitions. <br /> Commissioner Price said she received an announcement from the National Association <br /> of Counties (NACo), stating that President Obama has declared October to be National Cyber <br /> Security Awareness month. She said this information has been forwarded to Jim Northrup, <br /> who identified several efforts being made locally in this arena. <br /> Chair McKee said there is a team in Orange County working on cyber security. He <br /> acknowledged the efforts of this team. <br /> Commissioner Pelissier had no announcements or petitions. <br />
