28 <br /> 1 Appointment of Bob Hall to (position #1) "At-Large — BOCC Appointee" expiring <br /> 2 06/30/2017. <br /> 3 <br /> 4 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 5 <br /> 6 Commissioner Dorosin asked for clarification regarding any further existing vacancies <br /> 7 on this board. <br /> 8 David Hunt said he would follow up on this via email. <br /> 9 <br /> 10 d. Nursing Home Community Advisory Committee —Appointments <br /> 11 The Board will consider making appointments to the Nursing Home Community Advisory <br /> 12 Committee. <br /> 13 <br /> 14 A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Pelissier to <br /> 15 appoint the following to the NHCAC: <br /> 16 <br /> 17 -Appointment of Martha Bell to a one year training term (Position #1) At-Large position <br /> 18 expiring 10/06/2016. <br /> 19 -Appointment of Jerry Schreiber to a partial term (Position #4) "At-Large" position <br /> 20 expiring 06/30/2017. <br /> 21 <br /> 22 VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> 23 <br /> 24 12. Board Comments <br /> 25 Commissioner Jacobs had no comments. <br /> 26 Commissioner Rich said she attended the Advanced Leadership Program at the School <br /> 27 of Government, which she greatly enjoyed. She said while at this program, she had the <br /> 28 opportunity to discuss the flow of work sessions. She said the BOCC is not conducting work <br /> 29 session properly, in that work sessions should be free flowing conversations. She said it would <br /> 30 be led by Chair McKee, but would be more of a dialog than is currently had. <br /> 31 Chair McKee said he is open to being more informal, as long as the conversation affords <br /> 32 everyone the opportunity to speak. <br /> 33 Commissioner Rich thanked Steve Brantley for taking some of the BOCC on a tour of <br /> 34 the new Morinaga plant. <br /> 35 Commissioner Pelissier said last week that she, Bonnie Hammersley and Deputy <br /> 36 County Manager Travis Myren visited Durham County's Criminal Justice Resource Center. She <br /> 37 said it was a very informative visit. She said she attended a Community listening session for <br /> 38 the community health assessment this afternoon. She said there was good public attendance <br /> 39 and discussion. <br /> 40 Commissioner Price said the jury commission sheet says that one citizen appointment is <br /> 41 made by the BOCC, one by the Senior Resident Superior Court Judge, and one by the Clerk of <br /> 42 the Superior Court. <br /> 43 Commissioner Price said she and Chair McKee went to the Efland Cheeks Community <br /> 44 Center to attend an emergency preparedness meeting. She said the meeting was well <br /> 45 attended from across that community. <br /> 46 Commissioner Burroughs had no comments. <br /> 47 Commissioner Dorosin had no comments. <br /> 48 Chair McKee said he was glad that Commissioner Rich mentioned their Morinaga visit. <br /> 49 He said the formal grand opening will happen soon. He said this Thursday there will be a <br /> 50 ceremony to unveil a Historic marker to which the BOCC are invited. <br />
