3 <br /> • GOAL: ENSURE ECONOMIC SELF-SUFFICIENCY <br /> The creation and preservation of infrastructure, policies, programs and funding <br /> necessary for residents to provide shelter, food, clothing and medical care for <br /> themselves and their dependents. <br /> The CTP Administrative and Capital Grant provides Orange County access to funds to <br /> support its rural transportation infrastructure that promotes economic self-sufficiency to a <br /> wide range of residents and locations. The funds additionally support a system that <br /> enhances the access of residents in the non-urbanized areas to health care, shopping, <br /> education, employment, public services, and recreation. <br /> RECOMMENDATION(S): The Manager recommends the Board- <br /> 1. Continue and conclude the public hearing for receiving public comments on the <br /> proposed grant application; <br /> 2. Close the public hearing; <br /> 3. Approve the Community Transportation Program Grant application for FY 2017 in <br /> the total amount of$483,547 with a local match total of $56,693 to be provided when <br /> necessary; <br /> 4. Approve and authorize the Chair to sign the Community Transportation Program <br /> Resolution and the Local Share Certification for Funding form (Attachments 1 and <br /> 4); and <br /> 5. Authorize the Chair and the County Attorney to review and sign the annual <br /> Certifications and Assurances document in Attachment 2. <br />
