We were impressed with the discussion
regarding the County's "Social Justice" program and look forward to addressing the issue in the
conduct of the compensation and pay classification study. We will generate the report that was
requested by the Board during our visit to the meeting of the Board of Commissioners on October
23, 2007.
Please be advised that the Archer Matrix-Point-Factor Job Evaluation System was designed
to create and maintain pay equity for all jobs within an organization's pay structure. The purpose
for its development was to provide organizations with a valid and reliable evaluation of its jobs for
the purpose of determining the comparable worth of all such jobs and to ascertain and eliminate
any element of discrimination that might exist inherently in an organization's pay structure and pay
plan.
We appreciate the opportunity to work with and assist the officials and employees of
Orange County in its quest for a fair, equitable and competitive pay plan.
Sincerely,
Earnest Ro Archer
Earnest R.
