50 <br /> Page 2 of 2 Margaret Samuels <br /> Volunteer Experience: I have been a member of the PTA for many years and have served <br /> as the PTA Council Representative on the School Health Advisory Council. Most recently I <br /> was elected PTA Council President for Chapel Hill Carrboro City schools for the 2011- <br /> 2012 year. <br /> Education: I have a Bachelors of Social Work from the University of South Florida and a <br /> Masters degree from New York University. I completed a fellowship at the University of <br /> New Mexico where I implemented programs in collaboration with the Native American <br /> community and Head Start. <br /> Other Comments: <br /> It would be an honor to serve on the Orange County Economic Development Advisory <br /> Board. As a both a resident and employer in Orange County, I am very interested in <br /> encouraging economic development in our community. I am impressed with the current <br /> work of the County Commissioners and staff involved in economic development and <br /> would appreciate the opportunity to collaborate and partner on this committee. My current <br /> work, funding organizations and small business in Orange County to provide child care <br /> and early childhood programs keeps me very in tune with the economic endeavors of our <br /> county. I feel my background will be a good fit and allow me to analyze and evaluate <br /> suitable actions.
