The petitions and responses are listed below: <br /> 1) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Price for staff to follow up on naming a <br /> room at the Central Orange Senior Center for Jerry Passmore. <br /> Response:Manager to bring back review of naming policy; request can be discussed in follow- <br /> up to that discussion. <br /> 2) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that staff develop a proposed <br /> affordable housing plan and bring it back to the BOCC Work Session for review and <br /> discussion. <br /> Response: Staff in process of developing a comprehensive plan in conjunction with towns and <br /> providers. <br /> 3) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Jacobs that staff work with Durham Tech <br /> Community College to review paying for community college plan recently adopted in <br /> Richmond and Scotland counties and bring information report to the Board. <br /> Response: Manager to review and consult with Durham Tech staff. <br /> 4) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that staff provide information to the <br /> Board about a potential bond package consisting of$110 million for schools, $10 million for <br /> affordable housing and $5 million for seniors and possible options to re-direct $15m from the <br /> Capital Investment Plan to schools. <br /> Response: Information to be provided to the Board. <br /> 5) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Rich that staff provide example(s)for the <br /> Board and the public on the potential impact of projected tax increases on single family <br /> dwellings valued at $300,000 and the total additional tax that would be paid over 7 years. <br /> Response:Information to be provided to the Board. <br /> 6) Review and consider a request by Commissioner Burroughs that the Board of Health and <br /> Health Department consider reducing the cost of contraceptives in an effort to reduce teen <br /> pregnancy. <br /> Response: Request to be discussed by Manager and Health Director. <br /> Regards, <br /> 2 'W c <br /> Earl McKee, Chair <br /> Orange County Board of Commissioners <br />
