A perimeter- <br />fencing contract was approved on June 26, 2007 and was recently completed. To date, four <br />fields at the complex have been sprigged, with the remaining two to be sprigged in the spring. <br />Installation of the irrigation system is complete. Two wells have been completed. <br />The second portion of the project - or Phase II, includes the restroom building, field lighting, <br />parking, drainage, walking track and required landscaping. Plans and Specifications were <br />developed by Corley Redfoot Zack and staff. Staff had included sustainable features as <br />standard items, and the amenities to be part of the restroom building are: day lighting, motion <br />lighting, and low flow fixtures. <br />Bids were received on Tuesday, November 27, 2007 with eight bidders responding. The lowest <br />responsible bidder that was responsive is Brooks Construction of Greensboro, North Carolina at <br />a total cost of $1,660,933. This amount includes one alternate for a laminated wood shelter in <br />the amount of $39,600. <br />FINANCIAL IMPACT: The total construction budget for this project is $ 2,720,000, with <br />$839,816 being expended for Phase I items, thereby leaving a balance of $1,880,184 for Phase <br />11 work. The recommended bid award amount is $1,660,993, leaving a balance of $219,251 to <br />address any change orders that may arise during the project and to purchase needed site <br />
