8 <br />O Develops and modifies standard communications operating policies and procedures to <br />maintain and exceed the national expected standard of care. <br />o Serves as TAC for the agency DCI system. <br />o Interprets and clarifies policy changes for department personnel. <br />o Performs other related duties as assigned. <br />KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION: <br />o Extensive knowledge of E -911 systems, systems design and components <br />o Extensive knowledge of management principles and practices, and of budgeting cost <br />estimating and fiscal management. <br />o Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws and department policies and <br />procedures. <br />o Ability to supervise and train employees including organizing, prioritizing and scheduling <br />work assignments. <br />o Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. <br />o Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a <br />range of constituencies. <br />o Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local statutes and department policies and <br />procedures. <br />o Knowledge of county personnel and purchasing policies and procedures. <br />o Knowledge of emergency telecommunication systems and dispatch procedures. <br />o Knowledge of dispatching procedures. <br />o Knowledge of the regulations of state and national crime information centers. <br />o Skill in developing, implementing, and modifying policies, procedures, and training <br />programs and ability to lead them. <br />o Skill in the operation of radio/communications equipment. <br />o Skill in the operation of standard office equipment. <br />
