Commissioner Price said that the properties have yet to be sold and asked if shares will <br /> be sold in a certain way. She asked if one wanted to move into the community would one go <br /> directly to an owner or would there be a vetting process. <br /> Katy Ansadi said this process is not yet clearly defined. <br /> Commissioner Price said there are beavers in the area and asked if the group had any <br /> plans regarding the animals. <br /> Katy Ansadi said it is felt that the beavers are far enough away at this time to leave them <br /> alone. <br /> Commissioner Price said there is bus service near the proposed site. She also asked if <br /> there could be clarification regarding the stated desire for no curbside recycling. <br /> Katy Ansadi said the community is committed to recycling but trucks going through the <br /> site are undesirable. She said there will be a common pick up area toward the entrance of the <br /> development, as can be seen on page 229. <br /> PUBLIC COMMENT: <br /> Hope Horton said she had no further comment. <br /> Daniel Steenwike said he is a property owner, adjacent to the proposed site. He said <br /> the community is welcomed to the area, and he is glad that this is a sustainable living <br /> community. <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs for <br /> the Board to: <br /> • Refer the matter to the Planning Board with a request that a recommendation be <br /> returned to the County Board of Commissioners in time for the September 1, 2015 <br /> BOCC regular meeting. <br /> VOTE: UNANIMOUS <br /> A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Burroughs to: <br /> • Adjourn the public hearing until September 1, 2015 in order to receive the Planning <br /> Board's recommendation and any submitted written comments. <br /> Commissioner Dorosin asked if a decision was reached regarding the quarterly public <br /> hearing process. <br /> Chair McKee said it was discussed in a work session but no conclusions were reached. <br /> Craig Benedict, Orange County Planning Director, said on June 2nd an amendment <br /> outline of guidelines for this process will be brought to the BOCC for discussion. He added that <br /> any changes that the BOCC approves will not apply to the amendments in front of them this <br /> evening. <br />
