I am aware of the importance of an educated populace at all levels of <br /> employment and believe that a community college is one way to address a goal of educating all <br /> residents. I know that a major research university does not provide the range of educational <br /> programs needed in technical/vocational areas and see this as one role of a community college <br /> which can respond to local needs. Community colleges are also excellent entry points for <br /> nontraditional students and for those students with limited financial resources.
