41
1 Thank you,
2 Eva Labro
3 225 Whirlaway Lane
4 Chapel Hill
5
6 This is with regard to land use for construction and impervious allocation on private
7 property in Orange County. I am a resident at 101 Whirlaway lane, Chapel hill, NC which
8 is in the Triple Crown subdivision. We are currently highly restricted with regard to
9 impervious allocation (presently maxed) even though we have approx 3.5acres of land
10 on this property.
11
12 1 am requesting that the board consider reassessment of the impervious land allocation
13 for properties like ours that sit on large acreage but get limited by what can be built,
14 especially since we need to have handicapped access built for our elderly parent who is
15 a resident of this property.
16 Thanks,
17
18 Harendra Arora
19
20 Chair McKee asked if the subdivisions use part of the impervious surface allotment for
21 the roads structure themselves.
22
23 Michael Harvey said yes.
24
25 Chair McKee said perhaps this is where the excess impervious surface allotment was
26 used up.
27
28 Michael Harvey agreed.
29
30 A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich for the
31 Board to refer the matter to the Planning Board with a request that a recommendation be
32 returned to the BOCC in time for its June 16, 2015 regular meeting.
33
34 VOTE: UNANIMOUS
35
36 A motion was made by Commissioner Price, seconded by Commissioner Rich to adjourn
37 the public hearing until June 16, 2015 in order to receive and accept the Planning Board's
38 recommendation and any submitted written comments.
39
40 VOTE: UNANIMOUS
41
42 6. Unified Development Ordinance (UDO) Text Amendment -To review government-
43 initiated amendments to the text of the UDO to modify sign regulations within certain Activity
44 Nodes.
45
46 Chair McKee said he received word that Commissioner Jacobs has concerns about this
47 item. He said Commissioner Jacobs was unable to attend tonight and asked for the Board to
48 consider waiting until September to discuss this item, when Commissioner Jacobs can attend
49 the meeting.
50
