DocuSign Envelope ID:9F6CD7A3-C98B-47EB-9872-901B2E31ABE1 <br /> 7/17/2015 <br /> Scope of work and budget justification for <br /> Project EngAGE Facilitator at the Orange County Department on Aging <br /> The North Carolina Institute for Public Health (NCIPH), part of the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health, <br /> proposes to provide a staff person to serve as the Project EngAGE Facilitator for the Orange County (NC) <br /> Department on Aging for 10 hours per week for the period of July through December 2015. Project EngAGE is <br /> senior leadership program whose mission is to recruit and train Orange County older adults to become <br /> community resource leaders, and to ultimately make their communities ideal places to age. This document <br /> describes the duties of the position, qualifications of the proposed staff and budget justification. <br /> Position duties: <br /> The Project EngAGE Program Facilitator is responsible for implementing the Project EngAGE course curriculum <br /> and for facilitating the Project EngAGE program, a 13-week, 6-hour course(which runs from September 10 <br /> through December 10, 2015) at the Central Orange Senior Center, in Hillsborough, NC and in community sites <br /> around the county.This position reports to the Orange County Department on Aging Volunteer Connect 55+ <br /> Manager. <br /> The duties include, but are not limited to: Coordinating and scheduling class speakers, agency visits, bus <br /> transportation for field trips, and breakfast/lunch meals for participants; Facilitating the 13-week, 5-6 hour <br /> course, curriculum, either alone, or together with the Volunteer Connect 55+ Manager; Preparing student <br /> handbooks, and classroom materials; and Fostering a deeply engaged and committed cohort of Project EngAGE <br /> participants. <br /> Staff qualifications: <br /> The NCIPH staffer, Carol Gunther-Mohr,will fill this position. She has over 15 years of experience designing, <br /> coordinating and delivering training programs for adults and 4 years of experience working with seniors as a case <br /> manager. She has a Master's degree in American Studies from Brown University and a Certificate in Instructional <br /> Design. <br /> Budget justification: <br /> Personnel: Carol Gunther-Mohr, MA will serve as the Project EngAGE Facilitator for 10 hours per week for the <br /> period of August through December 2015. The salary and fringe benefits are$9,954. <br /> No other direct costs are associated with this contract. Orange County has requested that the indirect fees be <br /> waived as they have been for a similar contract with UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention <br /> (Cherie Rosemond, Aging in Orange County: Exploring options for housing and care).
